Blacks Don’t Read!
I got this in my email box sometimes ago. It broke my heart. I hated it, but I had to agree with it because it is absolutely true. Take a look and tell me what you think after reading this… if you will read.
THEY ARE OUR SLAVES
We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the efforts of physical slavery. Look at the current method of containment that they use on themselves; IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.
Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, “The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.” We live now in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read.
There are numerous books readily at Borders, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, not to mention their own black bookstores that provide solid blueprint to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all.
GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollar in total yearly income (2.22%). Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no market how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little though for saving or investing.
They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest to Tommy or FUBU. And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives the “status” or those they have achieved the American Dream.
They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities, with the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to use huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools speed more with him than ever before!), they’ll communities with the profits from our business that is market to them.
SELFISHINESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubo is said that there was an innate division in their culture. A “Talented Tenth” he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some “form” of success.
However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the “Talented Tenth” was then responsible to aid the “Non-Talented Ninety Percent” in achieving a better life. Instead that segment has created another class. A Buppie class that looks down on the people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of goal. Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community. They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about speakers, not the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness?
They steadfastly refuse to see that “TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)” They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own.
In fact, most of those Buppies are but own or two paychecks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our boardrooms. Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are “helping” their communities by paying dues to organization which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels.
By the way, don’t worry about any of them not reading this letter, remember, “THEY DON’T READ!”

Hmmm….Fela Durotoye had shared this in one of his workshops that I’d attended and I was very sad at the revelation/knowledge…and to think that parents in our generation choose to buy play stations and all sorts of game gadgets and elecrtonics instead of books for the growing generation…teachers readily ask students to pay 500 naira for answers to questions in external examinations rather than encourage them to read…it’s actually pathetic and getting worse…
Irene, I don’t think it is getting worse. Things are actually improve, but on a very slow rate. Come to think of it, you and I have read this and are talking about it. That means something. It will take time, but someday Blacks will realize the foolishness in borrowing the money they don’t have to buying things they don’t need just to impress people that doesn’t even know they exist.
The Editoria: “They Are Our Slaves / Blacks Don’t Read” is completely depicting of the Black Race. The bitter truth is the White Race has ran out of options on how to destroy or de-moralized the Black Race. Ignorance, Selfishness and Greed could very well be attributed as a misdemeanor to the White Race too. The White Race have always dreaded the Black Race hence the advent of Slavery. They believed that through Slavery they can contain the Black Race but their believes were wrong: the White Race have only contained themselves. When Slavery didn’t work as their means of containment, they sought other methods: Aparthy or Segregation, when that also failed, the White Race started thinking: the best way to destroy a race is to take away their means of Reproduction, so they flooded Black populated States, Black neighbourhoods and Black communities with Guns, Drugs and Liquor Stores, so that when a black man gets intoxicated by alcohol or high on drugs the out come is ; complete catastrophy, chaos and mayhem – blacks killing blacks. There are no Guns , Drugs and Liquor Stores in White neighbourhoods and communities in the United States. All the White Race Evil schemes of out-right destruction and containment of the Black Race is summounted in Selfishness, Greed and Ignorance of the White Race. To say that Blacks Don’t Read is absurd and a gross understatement : In 1721 Onesimus, an enslaved African, describes to Cotton Mather the African method of inoculation against smallpox – The technique was later used to protect American Revolutionary war Soldiers. Dr James Durham, born into slavery in 1762, later became the First African American Doctor in the United States. The Black Race is a very unique breed of People amongst all of GOD’S creation, so let every Blackman and Blackwoman in any part of the World stand-up for His or Her race with Pride and Dignity!!!
I always enjoy reading your comments here Narada, and you are so right about how unique the Black Race is. If Blacks seek knowledge more and understand the difference between schooling and education, there is no limit to what they can become. It’s not an hopeless situation though. Many young Blacks are now embracing knowledge and discovering their true selves despite all odds.
No man is infailable. Black or White. That grass in the other field looks greener does not mean it is. We have great scholars who happens to be black.In my view, the white man is not a better species or rare breed in word nor deed than a Black Man. Just like we have blacks who are crazy about the white culture,so do we have the reverse. I am Black and I read this! Take care.
